This piece is striking—a fusion of elegance and restraint, transformation and entrapment. The butterfly, a symbol of metamorphosis, stretches its vibrant wings over a black-and-white femme fatale, her gaze sultry yet melancholic. The contrast between her vintage allure and the industrial, almost gothic framework suggests a tension between beauty and confinement, further emphasized by the barbed wire curling around the base. The feathers and orange blooms add a sense of theatricality, perhaps a nod to cabaret or silent film glamour, while the golden embellishments hint at something sacred or untouchable. It feels like a shrine to desire, mystery, and the contradictions of freedom.
